Young Seon Mi plays tag with her classmates near an abandoned church. When they realize that Seon Mi joined them, they push her and start spitting on the tree, saying it has now bad luck. They leave to find another spot to play while Seon Mi stands up and apologizes to the tree for losing its playmates. She injures herself in the process and a female spirit residing atop the tree smells her blood. The spirit invites her to play, which she accepts willingly. The woman extends its arms for her and drags her upward. The spirit of Seon Mi's grandmother arrives and pulls her back. The female spirit vanishes and Seon Mi's grandma tends to her wound, encouraging her that the person destined to protect her is arriving soon. Then her grandma's spirit also vanishes.
