I should tell you beforehand. This movie involves tears. Lots of them. But you probably watched it already so you know what I'm talking about.
What I learned from this movie is that kindness will take you places. It may put you at a disadvantage sometimes, but it will most definitely take you to unexpected places.
Yong Goo is a mentally-challenged guy who raises his daughter all by himself. I believe he was able to raise his daughter pretty well, which shows on their kindness to other people. I just felt really sad that luck wasn't on their side (plus the shortcomings of the justice system). Still, this movie made me feel that family is very, very important. I have a soft spot for family-oriented shows since I am very close to my family. And this movie tells us that family, whether by blood or by affinity, will stick with you through thick and thin. This father-and-daughter touched many people's lives and you can't help but wish that things end differently for them, but that's life. And this tragedy defined Ye Seung's future, which eventually turned for the best.
